Asian brown cloud

Don’t ever think its just another cute pack of clouds in the skies. It one of the major environmental concerns in the present day world. And if you are an Asian, then be aware that this one has the potential to kill you. Wiki says,”The Asian brown cloud is a layer of air pollution that covers parts of South Asia, namely the northern Indian Ocean, India, and Pakistan.Viewed from satellite photos, the cloud appears as a giant brown stain hanging in the air over much of South Asia and the Indian Ocean every year between January and March, possibly also during earlier and later months.”

What caused this is very obvious. All the smoke and other effluents we emit are not going away, they simply linger just above your head doing all the harm to you and your land. I am writing this from Kerala, a very green place in the southern tip of India. Long costal lines, back waters, mountains on the other side.. all that makes this small place a heaven on earth. But I am not sure if I can show this same world to my children or grandchildren. This place is slowly changing. The rivers are running dry, the weather cycles are completely disturbed. It used to rain without a break from the end of May to July, but we are still waiting for the rain. Sometimes it showers for an hour or so and then nothing. Now the scientists have come up with the theory pointing on the brown clouds as the culprit.

They are robbing us of our showers. Like the same way they robbed the Bengali’s of their winter. India and most of Asia still depends on agriculture to survive. And any change in the climatic conditions or the natural cycles would be a threat of gargatuan proportions.
